* All dancers (excluding first year dancers) are eligible to compete in feisanna
(Irish dance competitions). Participating in feisanna is an excellent opportunity
for your child to build self-confidence as well as show their talents and what they
have learned in class.
* Feisanna are held almost every weekend. A feis list for the year will be
available at class or on our web-site. Please read through to see if there are
any feisanna that you would be interested in attending. You may also see a current list
of feis for the year on the North American Feis Commission website.
>> See Schedule
* Check the “syllabus folder” in class to see if we have the syllabus you are
looking for. If we do not, call the contact name and number on the feis list and
request an entry form.
* Once you receive the syllabus, bring it to class and your dance teacher
will circle the dances your child can participate in. The majority of the dances
your child will be dancing will be individual or solo competitions. If we find
that enough children will be going to a certain feis, we will arrange for group
or figure dances.
* Prior to most feisanna, we will hold two practices at our Broomal Studio.
At these practices, we will review the steps your child will be dancing in the competition.
* The most important thing to remember is to REGISTER EARLY! Due to the size
of their facilities, most feisanna now have a limit on the number of entries they can accept.
If you have any further questions, please put them in the “question box” at
class or e-mail info@mcdadeschool.com. Thank you!
